FAQs

Q: Is there any fee for membership of the NGO?
A: There is no membership fee to join the NGO.
Q: Age Limit to join?
A: Minimum 21 years
Q: I have already filled the form. I have not received any invitation yet.
A: If your form is rejected for reasons like – underage/outstation applicant/CoI – you should have received an email. If there is no email, your form is under processing and you shall receive the invite only when the next lot/batch is ready for induction. This may take 2-3 weeks.
Q: I can contribute only on weekends, as I am working/studying and hence busy on weekdays. Can I still join as a member?
A: Yes. Almost all the events/meetings are scheduled on weekends only. Once in a span of 1-2 months. Besides that, there are a regular set of activities that keep occurring in which you can participate at any given time, whenever you are free.
Q:  How much time do I have to give to the NGO?
A: TAMMANA is completely a voluntary NGO. You devote time only as much as you can. However, you are expected to be productive as a member. Not only by your physical presence at the event, you can always take part in the making of the event. You can always workforthe event and not at the event alone.
Q:  How can I contribute towards the NGO?
A: You can contribute by using your time / resources. TAMMANA provides you options to work offline/online/at the backend/at the field. Each event shall give you various opportunities on the same platform as the team to pick your own tasks.
Q: Key Areas that NGO works in?
A: While we are not restricted to any particular domain or specific cause, our key areas are Health and Education. We are working to contribute to the society in whichever way we can, bringing about a little change in the lives of kids at the slums or the orphanage, residents of the old age homes by various time spending programs and other planned events. We also perform seasonal work like that of serving Chabeel in summers to distributing blankets in winters.
Q: Does the NGO have presence at other locations apart from Chandigarh?
A: As of now, we are operating only in and around the tricity and Doraha, Ludhiana (Punjab).
Q: I am currently working with another NGO. Can I still join NGO TAMMANA?
A: In such a case, we cannot onboard you as a member because there is a Conflict of Interest (COI). A COI occurs when an individual or organization is involved in multiple interests, one of which could possibly corrupt the motivation for an act in another. The presence of a conflict of interest is independent from the execution of impropriety. Therefore, a conflict of interest can be discovered and voluntarily defused before any corruption occurs. The secondary interests are not treated as wrong in themselves, but become objectionable when they are believed to have greater weight than the primary interests. The conflict in a conflict of interest exists whether or not a particular individual is actually influenced by the secondary interest. It exists if the circumstances are reasonably believed (on the basis of past experience and objective evidence) to create a risk that decisions may be unduly influenced by secondary interests.
Q: I am currently working with another NGO, though not actively. I am engaged with them through online promotions, getting donations for them through my friends on Facebook, Twitter etc., but not physically as that NGO is not present in Chandigarh. Can I still join NGO TAMMANA?
A: Same as above
Q: Is the NGO Registered?
A: Yes
